The first step towards becoming a financial counsellor is completing a Diploma of Financial Counselling (CHC51122). For Tasmanian residents, the following Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) offer training towards this nationally recognised qualification:

  • The diploma can be completed in one year of full-time study or over two years part-time.

  • The course is available through various delivery methods, including face-to-face, online, or a blended approach. Contact the RTOs listed above for more

  • The course includes 220 hours of practical placement at a financial counselling agency.

  • Please note that qualifications in other areas, such as accounting or financial planning, do not replace the CHC51122 Diploma of Financial Counselling.
